We are the only boarding school in Colombia’s North-Eastern region that provides services to children with various disabilities from low-income backgrounds
Due to the pandemic our financial situation deteriorated and we need your help
We are dependent on recurring donations to fund our staff and supply food to the children. During the pandemic, donations to the school from both NGOs and private donors reduced significantly.
We accept all children, teenagers and young adults with cognitive, intellectual, sensory and/or physical disabilities as well individuals with severe, moderate and mild brain injuries and autism.
organization
Founded in 1997 by Sister Dolly Ocampo from the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul, the Marillac Foundation became the first school to serve students with disabilities in the region. The Daughters of Charity still run the school and remain an active part of day-to-day activities.
Due to a lack of government resources, children of low income backgrounds with disabilities are often rejected at public schools and left at home where they do not receive an appropriate level of care or education.

During the pandemic we didn’t receive the necessary funds required to pay all of our teachers and therapists and had to lay off much of our staff. We currently only have four teachers and therapists for more than 30 students with special needs.
Pay our current teachers a fair salary on a regular basis
Be able to buy balanced food for the daily meals
Hire 3-5 additional teachers and therapeutic staff
Depending on your wishes, will we send you quarterly or annual information about the situation of the school and the use of your donations.
Sorry I can’t become a regular sponsor, but I still want to help
Regular donations provide a financially sustainable situation that allows us to cover the running costs of the school. For this reason (even smaller) regular donations are especially helpful, however all help is appreciated.
For one-time donations, simply select “one-time donation” information on the form.
